  • March 2016 - Radio Harmony broadcasts recommence on community radio 2XX every Wednesday from 9.00 –     9.30pm on FM 98.3
  • 21 May Integrated Cultures ACT Inc. - 2nd annual concert featuring a classical Indian (Hindustani) vocal concert by Radha Kalyan and Siva Kalyan from 5.30 pm at the Theo Notaras Multicultural Centre, Canberra city
  • 24 September and 19 November – Better communication workshop for children

Let’s talk:

Throughout 2016, IWN hosted ‘let’s talk’ events every month at the Theo Notaras Multicultural Centre in Canberra city from 3 – 5 pm on the following dates:
  • 16 January featuring talks by LSC Jason Narovska, - Multicultural Liaison Officer, Community Safety Unit, ACT Policing; Yelin Hung, Multicultural Liaison Officer, Health Care Consumers’ Association of the ACT (HCCA) and free Henna hand painting by Samyuka Logan and Priyanka Bhaskar.
  • 20 Feb - talk on “Communication at work:  Managing in Teams and Managing Upwards” by Ms Melissa Sykes.
  • 19 March – promoting the Endometriosis network
  • 2 April – parenting teenagers
  • May – no let’s talk event due to the concert
  • 18 June – a talk on Osteoporosis by Dr Sharmila Sambandam
  • 23 July – discussion on work life balance
  • 17 September - Dance and yoga based techniques for relaxation and self-awareness by Ms Padma Menon
  • 15 October – a talk on hypertension by Dr Sharmila Sambandam
  • 10 December – informal discussion and racial discrimination awareness
 

2017 events/workshops:
  • 18 Feb 2017: National Multicultural festival cultural performance
  • 19 Feb 2017: National Multicultural festival information stall and cultural performance
  • Four workshops planned in 2017 at the Gungahlin library Conference room from 2 – 5pm. Mark these dates in your diaries. Further details to be confirmed.
  • 19 March 2017 – session on better financial management and celebrating International Day of Happiness (falling on 20 March)
  • 21 May 2017: better health management; IWN’s anniversary celebrations and celebrating International Day of Families (falling on 15 May)
  •  10 September 2017 - domestic violence awareness raising session; and celebrating International Day of Peace (falling on 21 September)
  • 19 November 2017 – celebrating International Men’s Day (19 November) and International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (falling on 25 November)
