INTEGRATED WOMEN’S NETWORK
Integrated Women's Network is a community organisation that works for the welfare and betterment of women of South Asian origin.
Though members of the integrated Women’s Network had been working together for a few years, IWN was formally launched by the ACT Minister for Women Ms Joy Burch MLA on 22nd May 2012.
The Network aims to integrate women of South and South-East Asian origin, from diverse cultural backgrounds and interests, with the larger Australian community, to build a stronger Australia through awareness, empowerment and connectivity. The focus of this group is on advocacy, positive affirmative action, and prevention of violence against women, mentorship and dissemination of timely information, thus enabling women’s empowerment with discussion and fun activities. The goal and vision of this group is to advance Respect and Recognition – supporting, celebrating and encouraging the full participation and contribution of women in every aspect of community. It aims at developing and reinforcing positive relationships in every sphere of life including domestic and professional.

- To provide an opportunity to meet, discuss and address issues of interest to women
- To provide a forum to share knowledge and ideas
- To forge strong bonds between women in the ACT
- To enable mentorship for all women by connecting leaders with potential leaders
- To align women’s network activities to government initiatives with a view to improving the overall quality of women’s lives
